Synopsis:

Xue Fang Fei is the talented and much loved daughter of a country magistrate, and wife to scholar Shen Yu Rong.  But one memorable evening, Xue Fang Fei wakes to find herself framed, betrayed, and buried alive...

Xue Fang Fei is saved by Jiang Li, the second daughter of the powerful Secretariat Director, who herself has been framed for a crime she did not commit and lives in exile. When Jiang Li dies, Xue Fang Fei takes on Jiang Li's identity and engineers a return to the capital, vowing vengeance for herself, the real Jiang Li, and all the others who have been wronged along the way.  

Xue Fang Fei is assisted in her quest by the enigmatic Xiao Heng, Duke of Su, who wants to watch her revenge drama unfold and also has an agenda of his own.  In turn she willingly becomes a piece on his chess board and he on hers. As they get closer and closer to the truth, the storm clouds gather for an epic showdown, one that could shake the foundations of the country itself...

First thoughts

🐼: Oh the melodrama!!  It's all very OTT but hugely entertaining. This one requires suspension of disbelief and plenty of popcorn🍿
