Synopsis:
In a Class of Her Own is a Chinese remake of the popular 2010 South Korean historical drama Sungkyunkwan Scandal.
The heroine Xue Wen Xi is poor but brilliant. In an age where women are prohibited from becoming educated or being employed, she dresses as a man and works as a copywriter (and has a successful side hustle as a serial romance novelist) to earn money for her family.
When her family fall into debt, Xue Wen Xi attempts to raise cash in increasingly desperate ways, including by illegally becoming a substitute test-taker in the entrance exams for the prestigious Yunshang Academy. In the process, Xue Wen Xi meets the strait laced but sincere Governor's son, Feng Cheng Jun who comes to admire her talent and secretly sets in place arrangements for her to enter the Yunshang Academy as a scholar, leaving Xue Wen Xi with no choice but to enroll. Besides, scholars are paid a stipend every month, so ...
As Yunshang Academy is a male only school, Xue Wen Xi disguises herself as a man and goes by her brother's name Wen Bin to guard the secret of her true identity. Being witty, charming and kind, Xue Wen Xi wins the affection of her fellow scholars. She becomes particularly close with the kind-hearted Feng Cheng Jun, the temperamental Lei Ze Xin, and the mischievous Yu Le Xuan, and the four become known as the "Yuanshang Quartet" (“云上四杰”). With Xue Wen Xi's secret eventually exposed, her growing feelings for Feng Cheng Jun, and the Quartet becoming entangled in conflicts past and present, there is plenty of love, angst, and obstacles to resolve...

First thoughts:
🐼:This one looks good! From the trailer and synopsis, it seems we are in for shades of Mulan, a plucky heroine, and lots of eye candy (I mean, we're talking Song Wei Long, Wang Rui Chang, and Bi Wen Jun in one drama here)! Suspect we may also have to suspend disbelief to believe that the gorgeous Ju Jing Yi could pass for a man 😆
